US Patent No. 9,918,909 B2; Colgate-Palmolive Company has patented an oral care composition comprising a film entrained in a carrier, wherein the film comprises a film-forming polymer and a functional material and the carrier comprises a gel, a colloid, or a fibrillar network comprised of water. The film has a dissolution value from about 2 to about 200 seconds, enough to effect release of the functional material during use of the composition.
